The 2011 International Year of Forest not only become an event for students to celebrate the forest day, but also it can be a time for forestry students as young forester to prepare and make strategies to the forestry’s world in the future to reach sustainable forest. So…
–It’s time for us to create history for great forestry–
SEAFYM ( South East Asia Forest Youth Meeting ) is forestry event which will be held to celebrate the world forestry day. This event will be organized by IFSA Local Committee IPB and would be attended by students from the 10 ASEAN countries. The participants from ASEAN countries will be attending the 1st SEAFYM in Indonesia on December 12th – 16th, 2011. The meeting will take place in Dramaga, Bogor Indonesia. The schedule of activities will be held for lectures and seminar, fieldtrip or excursion, cultural night.
The objectives from this event are
- To find out innovation and new idea(s) for the advancement of forestry and environment sector.
- To provide a platform for interaction and exchange of knowledge, experiences and information’s on forestry and related matters among forestry students worldwide.
- To enrich formal forestry education.
- To foster environmental leadership in multicultural working environment as preparation of the real forestry work at International level generally and ASEAN level especially.
- To deliver a strong message to the world society related to the importance of forestry education.
